This is the dog that will be great worker at your service.
German Shepherds Dogs must be even tempered, well balanced and self-assured. They must be completely natural, totally harmless, vigilant and docile. They must be courageous, sturdy of character and instinctively ready to guard. This long list of qualities makes them good companions and protectors, excellent guard and herding dogs.

How to create a working breed?

As can be said of practically any dog breed that has been selected for any length time, the GSD has envolved substantially over the past century. But beyond the trends inherent in the selective breeding of any animal, GSD continue first and foremost to be working dogs - undoubtedly the most popular working breed on the planet. Their morphology must be functional, or they will be unable to complete their varied tasks. The reason for their consistency is simple: since the breed stock was established at the end of 19-th century, enthusiasts have endeavoured to accentuate versality, adaptability, bravery and an even temper - the specific traits that explain the breed's success around the world.

A roubust dog

GSD are solidly built, large - sized dogs. They are slightly longer than they are tall. They are strong, muscular and lean.
Behaviour and character are critical factors in these versatile working and service dogs.

The German Shepherd Dog in brief

 Head:
A wedge - shaped head that is in proportion to the rest of the body ( lenght approximately 40% og height to the withers). It is neither coarse nor overly elongated with a general appearance that is clean and dry. Moderately broad between the ears.

Ears:
Medium-sized, carried upright. Symmetrical (not sloping at the sides) and  tapering to a point. The pinna face forwards.

Body:
The topline runs without a visible break from the collar and well developed withers, along the slightly sloping back, to the croup. The loins are broad, well developed and muscular. The back is firm, robust and muscular.

Tail:
The tail extends at least to the hock, but must not reach beyond the middle of the metatarsal. The hair is slightly longer on the underside, hanging in a gentle curve. When the dog is excited or active it rises, but never above horizontal line.

Colour:
Black with markings that are reddish-tan, gold, yellow or even light grey. Solid black or dark grey. Black saddle and mask.

Coat:
Short hair with undercoat. The topcoat must be as dense as possible, straight, harsh and close.

I choose this breed as the first to describe because I like this dogs very much and I think a lot of people know sth about them. This is really popular dog in many countries. What more I were with GSD for some time and I know that they were great! They were having great time when people throwing sth for them to catch . They just loved to play with people.  One day I would love to  have GSD in my garden!
Do you have any story connected with German Shepherd Dog? What is your favourite breed? Write in comments ;)
Do you know about European and American GSD? Tomorrow I will write you about small differences between this dogs.

Hello!

I am 24 years old dogs lover. My name is Natalia. I am totally in love with dogs and that's why I decided to set up  blog about them. Now when I finished studies I have more time to do things that I always wanted to do. I had some dogs smaller and bigger ones and they all were great! Now I have mix of canarian dog and she is lovely.  How is it possible not to love dogs? I have no idea...
We all know that dogs are the best friends of people. Actually there are some they say that dogs are better than people. We all live in one world and animals teach us how to behave responsibly, how to treat another creatures. And if we make small effort to treat dogs well and give them a little love we can have great companions.
I would love to show you my photo with  dog name's Wafel that I met  in Portugal in Elvas. He was running around ruins of old castle;) Friendly small dog. I think he went for a short walk without his owners.

I would like to invite you to follow my blog. I am going to put notes about dogs care, dogs trainings and games, dogs services. I am also dogs breed maniac so I will be putting news and photos of different breeds of dogs. With time I want to put some links to movies with dogs showing their skills.
The aim of this blog is to show you dogs as the best creatures. I want you to have fun with being with your pets and to learn how to treat them well.
And sth to think for all of us!
